How one very special dog inspired a whole new way to think about dog parenting.

The Story of Marley & Me

Marley's story began when John rescued him from North Central Shelter in Los Angeles. After training through Paws for Life K9 Rescue, Marley settled into his new life with John.

Later, when John returned to working in an office full-time, Marley struggled with separation anxiety. John wanted to find a way to give him the companionship and care he needed while balancing the demands of his career.

That's where I came in.

A mutual friend introduced me to John, and when I met Marley, we bonded instantly.

What started as a simple arrangement to help care for Marley turned into something neither of us could have predicted: a lasting co-parenting partnership that has enriched all of our lives.

For over five years, John and I have shared the joys and responsibilities of caring for Marley, from daily walks and routines to vet visits, adventures, and everything in between. We've built a partnership around one shared priority: giving Marley the happiest, most loved life possible.

Marley has come a long way from his early days on the streets. Today, he has multiple homes, plenty of people who love him, and even a starring role in the Oscar-winning short film Two Distant Strangers. (Yes, our dog is an Oscar winner!) He loves green beans, puppuccinos, soft pillows, and most of all, being close to his favorite humans.

This past January, Marley turned 12. He's come a long way, and so have we.

Marley is my best friend, and he's given me something I never knew I was missing. I created Doggy Daddy because I believe more people deserve to experience the joy of having a dog in their lives, and more dogs deserve the love and care that comes from having an extra person in their corner.
